Should I upgrade my CPU and GPU?

I'm not sure if I should upgrade from 6700K CPU and Nvidia 1060 6GB GPU. I play games like GTA 5, Red Dead Redemption 2, Watch Dogs Legion etc and upcoming next-gen games.

I'm not sure if it's worth upgrading the CPU or just upgrade the GPU. If should upgrade the GPU, which one should I pick? My budget for the GPU £340 maximum.

You need to inform us of the resolution you play at.
A five year old cpu is fine unless your gaming at 1080p where it could be more problematic
If your gaming at 1440p then you need a GPU. The 3060TI is coming out soon, but your going to need at least another 100 to even consider getting one, probably more given the current market. (base price is 390, but will likely rise to 450 on launch day)

Either way a budget of 340 is not going to get you far. stretch it a little and you have an AMD switch though:

Rtx 3060ti come out today at 2PM I believe, you could try for that.

I agree, a 3060ti would be a good upgrade, cheapest on OCUK is £389.99, but shop around as you may get a better deal.

Just be quick though, as they will go fast.

A GPU upgrade would be the best bang for buck. I have a 6700k with a 2070 Super and it works very well. It will certainly give a performance boost by upgrading.

You'll need a new CPU sooner or later for next-gen stuff, but I'd try the graphics card first.

If you could stretch just a little you’d get a 3060ti for £390. That card will be three or four times as powerful as your 10606GB which you’d probably get £50 or £60 for.
