Should I upgrade to a GX2?

Easy now guys! :p ;)

You're hurting my feelings!

It's no dinosaur! Sure it's not DX10 and sure others (GTX and in general the GTS) are faster and easier to set up but it's still pretty good!

I've seen my mates x1900xt running at well above xtx speeds and it sure can't bet the performance of the GX2 in any game i've seen - i'll admit, a couple of games ran about the same speed but that was all.

In fact, i had Quake 4 on last night with full everything and 8xAA... it ran smooth as a babies! Not bad for something that cost me 2/3 what he paid for his XT 4 months earlier!

I agree with you all about getting a GTS or GTX though! I know if i had the money now it would be a no brainer!

Apologies gt, no offence intended. It's hardly slow, nose to nose with a 8800 GTS and beats everything else bar a 8800 GTX.

Even ATi are trying to copy the idea, albeit about 6 months too late.

Nice - anything to take advantage of the 4 cores? Do you get a higher 3d mark score? Or do you make sure that you are always encoding 2 DVDs and browsing the web while you game? :)

I have no problem utilising all four cores.

With premier open and after effects open rendering real time effects on the time line, while

processing audio tracks in adobe audtion.

And mastering earlier editing projects to DVD in a Encore DVD.

All at the same time.

If you dont do this kind of thing then dont get one

Re-encode uses 80% when backing up DVD's.

Have you done the cinebench test utilising all four cores?

Takes me 13 secs how long does it take a dual core?

3D mark 06 is up.

I'm just about to put it under phase :D

I didn't have any presumptions about 4 core usage - I honestly didn't know. The first time I got to grip with multi-core tech was my mates Opteron and gaming and encoding a DVD at the same time!

OCUK stopped dealing with them due to shoddy customer support and RMAs etc. Last i read on here was XFX were thinking about legal action against OCUK

XFX geforce 7s had some big problems, basically they didnt deal with them very well, OCUK stopped selling them due to XFXs poor customer support etc, something along those lines i beleive. It reflected on overclockers badly, no business wants to be partially held to blame for another companys **** up :)

I was looking into the eVGA model GTX as it was a lot faster than the other models which I thought was a little strange?

I've not had any problems with XFX stuff before... Must be a one off bad batch or something...
