hey guys should i wait for the new synology DS213j (cant find release date) or should i get the DS212J?

Depends how quickly you need a NAS (and any of the potential new features the upgraded one will have).

Can't find any specs online, but it'll probably get a bump from 256MB to 512MB in memory and will go from USB2 to USB3. Some of the other DS213 models now have 2 network ports and it will probably get a processor speed bump.

If any of those are of use to you, then I'd wait.

which HD should i get with it?

WD Reds would be the obvious choice, but 2/3TB are hard to find in stock now.

Hopefully will be available when the 213 arrives.

I was in the same position and eventually went for the DS213 so it should last a fair while!

It's essentially the same spec as the DS212+ but cheaper!

Just waiting for these damn WD RED's to come into stock now!!!!
