Should lava lamps be turned off at night?

When I had a lava lamp many many years ago I used to leave mine on for days and it was fine

My sister used to leave hers on 24/7. Think it had a 60w bulb in it.

The wax started to thin after about 18 months.

I've got one that must be about 10 years old now and has been left on for long periods of time.

Only thing I've found is that overtime the watery liquid has reduced a little. Only thing that happens is that the bulbs eventually burn out.

My Grande that I got today.

I will be turning it off at night when im asleep as the last one I had, I had it on nearly all the time and the wax got all messed up and dont want that to happen to this one.

My 10+ year old lava lamp still works just like the day I bought it - I've left it on for over 16 hours sometimes, and not a problem.

Best thing for lava lamps is to actually remove the lava

I have just the base of my sat behind the monitor and it provides a very nice soft uplight
