Should OCUK forums go subscription only?

I never said you're a moron, you are a kid though, 12.

Just because I don't have any money!
Trying to drive people out of a forums, you see at the bottom? 5000 people online (eg) if this happens then there will only be 2 people active, you and that other guy :(

In the simplest terms it would affect those who were banned. Why should they still get all of the benefits of the resources this forum could provide?

Also, for lurkers there is a simple solution, register. It takes a minute.

I still don't get it. People get banned, they can't post, end of surely? How does it affect you if they're able to view the forum? It doesn't.

I think the ocuk forums should go subscription only, say access for 30 days for £4.99.

This would surely get rid of all the kids and morons leaving only the good people left to post and make a telling contribution.

The added revenue could be used to discount products and run high quality competitions for the remaining high brow users left.

What do you think?

What? and you really think the owners would allow this already generating an income from the through-traffic they get from this site? I can't believe I have just read your post? Another one having a lobotomy day it seems. :p

Digital Spy have a fairly good system whereby it's free to sign up if you use an email address associated with your broadband account but charge a sign up fee of a fiver if you sign up with a Hotmail/Gmail/Yahoo type account.

In what way is that a good system? I'd love to see figures on just how many people on this forum use their broadband email as their main one compared to hotmail/gmail/other hosting domains.
