Should we be Chipped like Cats/Dogs?

It'll happen eventually, but more for our ID and things inside our palm, to authorise payments etc. but for the police to use them for tracking the EU Courts would go ape ****.

They go yellow now? o.O

The Mark of the Beast Revelations

16 And he causes all, the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the free men and the slaves, to be given a mark on their right hand or on their forehead, 17 and he provides that no one will be able to buy or to sell, except the one who has the mark, either the name of the beast or the number of his name.…

As was foretold, So it shall be...! :/

if you have a mobile phone you pretty much already are.

Personally don't have a problem with this... I have nothing to hide as long as its just the law that can access it with a court warrant or something? Stops the crazy women tracking you like they can with find my iphone ha.

Unless in missing the point i don't see why people are just saying no without explanation.

I know people recalled back to jail because their phone locators has shown them within a certain distance of a crime.

You can leave your mobile phone in a cupboard or a metal box that blocks signals... You couldn't do that if you have a chip permanently implanted in your body.

Plus there are plenty of perfectly functional mobile phones that do not have GPS in them

I don't believe in fiction. :p :D

I think just possibly it could be ordered in high risk people. People who are in serious danger of harming themselves or others. You cant keep em all locked up constantly.

That makes zero sense.

If someone is a "serious danger" to harming others they shouldn't be out in public to begin with.

And how exactly is a tracker going to prevent them from doing anything? It would take police at least 10 minutes to respond if they went outside their allowed area (probably longer), which is more than enough time for the nut job to have accomplished his or her goal

OK, maybe not people who are dangers to others, but I bet there are many people who have people close to them that they feel they need to keep track of.

My uncle, who had mental issues, committed suicide in 1989. He was missing for five days before his body washed up near Woolwich. My Dad had five days of misery worrying where he was before he was found. OK, he wouldn't have lived, but at least my Dad wouldn't have gone through the anguish of not knowing where he was.

Just because you don't believe in something doesn't mean it isn't so! :D

The point is that, for something written 2000 or so years ago, it is actually a pretty specific bit of prophesy (The bit about trade) that is pretty relevant to the topic under discussion.

(I have a little theory about "Paranormal" stuff like Prophesy/clairvoyance that allows for a "Real World" explanation for it (As far as what the real world might actually be anyway!) But that is a topic for another thread! ;) )

Excuse my lack of imagination but what use could somebody have with leaked DNA files?

it depends how trustworthy you are of those wholesome people in power.

[tin foil hat on]If someone already has your DNA records and wanted shut of you then they could maybe leave some synthesised DNA which is a close match to yours and leave at crime scene X.

Maybe business could use this info to trace your left DNA in a shop or whatever for sending out spam adverts and mail bombs..

By the time that would happen who knows what could be done with it. We're pretty up on analysing DNA as it is. It could be perhaps used for targeting ads etc. Google are already using our names in adverts to target us personally...

A genuine question...

What IS the procedure when DNA at a "Crime scene" is matched to a record currently held on the database?

Do they retest the "suspect" as a matter of routine to make sure that the record is correct ??

(One would hope so, But I can certainly see how a misused/erroneous DNA database entry could cause an innocent person a really bad day, even if it was eventually resolved!)
