Tropical fish! ;)

Ive seen plenty of tarantulas(Not my cup of tea!), and decided that as Im about to get some tropical fish it may be worthwhile seeing if any of you have some nice setups and spectacular fish!

My tank will arrive in 1 hour , and Im thinking of getting few ickle sharks-and some neons-not sure about what else-will post pics when its underway!

Go on fish keepers-inspire me :D

I always liked tiger barbs, pleccies (forgotten the real name, but they clean the algae), and cat fish.

The sooner you get a pleccy, the better - helps keep the glass clean. If you let just the one do the cleaning, I'm told they can grow to some rather respectable sizes.

i think i know what you are on about the next door neighbour has one-its mahooooosive
Bah I can beat weather loaches easily. My Dad owned two Oscars.

They grew so bloody quickly, that they outgrew the tank and we had to sell (or give...can't remember) them to a local petshop.:(

clown loaches are great!

have you had a tank before? I have installed a number before and i would highly recommend you stick to timetables for set up and fish numbers otherwise it will become even more expensive than it already is :D

Have fun I wish i had the room to have one or two in my current house:(

Ive not had tropical fish before-just your run of the mill boring goldfish.

Luckily the next door neighbour keeps them and is going to help me start out!

I've got 2 Chinese Loaches cleaning the tank and living with my goldfish ( Mildred ).

If that counts as Tropical ?

Meet "Sid" -the Synodontis Catfish

We used to have lots of different ones too like tiger barb and neon tetras. We'd have more but he tends to eat them

How could I forget weather loaches?

I love watching them sleeking around the tank.

The mans got taste. All my favs. A few of the neon tetra to brighten up the tank although they are a bit too common. Unfortunately it appears my tropical fish didnt like the water down south here and were prone to dying.

its a very expensive hobby, or at least in can be. Friend of mine was importing some fish from Japan at 200-300 a time.

Did look very nice in his livingroom, some amount of care and attention mind you!

he hates cameras and goes mental when you go anywhere near him with one

as you can see he makes it very hard to get a good pic

my friends got a little 2ft tank and his glass cleaning one keeps eating all the other fish, he's not convinced its "acidental" on his part though... damn evil fish if you ask me
