Show off your Jap cars!

LOL. What, because it didn't have enough POOWAHHHH!!!!

That and the skittish handling.
It's great that it revs to 9000 rpm but the revs take an age to build up compared to other honda's I've driven.
I went to Scotland in it and it rained pretty heavy. I found myself doing 40mph on roads that I could easily have done 60 on in any other car. Sold it as soon as I got back home.
It was a nice car to drive round town in though.

Needs bigger wheels ;)

I hope you can drive it. I'm not getting up at 7am next week for you to drive like miss daisy :p :D

6th gear and 60mph all the way ;)

The dealer had put some el cheapo rubber on the back (and the front, come to think of it) so when we end up in a tree, on fire, it's not my fault. Thought I'd get my excuses in now :p

Got my first "proper" jap car a few days ago and I'm really impressed with it. Cost me £3900, and does 0-60 in 5 seconds. It's a Subaru Forester 2.5 XT Turbo.

Unless it's modified I doubt it does 0-60 in 5 seconds ;)

Mod it ;)
It has been modded :) Stock time is 5.7 seconds, and after an ECU remap by chey at Pennine Subaru, 0-60 is apparantly 5 seconds. When I bought it the seller told me there had also been some other modifications installed on the engine, so I'm taking it to dynotech hayes engineering on saturday to get it looked at and dyno'd, so we'll see for sure then. :)

1986 MK1 MR2

Not a very good picture, but engine.

1993 Celica GT
My second car =) Sold her 5 months after getting her for Download tickets lol.

My old Nissan Skyline R34 GTT. Imported it virtually stock from Japan in the summer of '03 when petrol was still 74p a litre :(

Modified it straight away to 400bhp (it was very rare to go that far back then with a GTT) which lasted a year where I covered 20,000miles doing some pretty amazing things including car shows in Holland etc until I made an incredibility stupid mistake with a oil cooler which scrapped the engine. By then a few others had done the 400+ bhp thing and as I hate doing the same thing twice I went for a RB26 conversion (never done in the UK). After about a year off the road mainly in ECU/Wiring hell it made 450hp easily with the block built to take 550-600hp (never got around to buying the turbos for that power).

By now my funds were very severely depleted so regretfully I sold it around Xmas '07 but not before it had one last Hurrah in Banzai mag.

My first jap was a Carina GTi, that was a great car, very impressive for its day.

Since then the japs ive went through:

8g Galant vr4, good few mods but a very clean example, much missed
96 JDM Integra Type R, imported myself and enjoyed it for a month
8g Legnum vr4 (manual), loads of mods, looked stock, spent a fortune, took it to the rolling road one day and hit the power I wanted, put up for sale that night
6g 1987 Galant vr4, sold recently, loved the old girl, mad power for its looks :)

My daily is now this:

Great car for the money. £9000 approved used... its not been super reliable to Lexus have replaced the exhaust and a few other bits. Aint bad for a 2005 car with 85k on it though.

Got my eyes open for another mint 8g Galant vr4 as a toy.
