Show the lads your Silverstone cases

Looking forward to it, what spec did you finally go with?

well i've sent a cheeky webnote asking about the D0 i7 chips but doubt they'll pick me one out.

the spec i have writen down at present is below but someone has mentioned getting the corsair ram which is a bit cheaper.

ahh i'm jealous lol i was gonna order that on friday when i got paid, hope you enjoy it and OCUK get some more stock in soon.

sorry dude. got some spare cash today so didn't want to miss out.
odering the rest on thursday or friday depending when i get my savings transfered over.

just remember no matter how lush they look you wont see them inside the v8 lol :)

yeah i'm beggining to think that too. plus you can't use the fan controller as it's hardwired into the stock fan!
Looks like i'll get two still and have one in my Kama Bay and one as an exhaust fan. Not sure if that'll ruin the look of the front of the case though with the orange fan?

You might need to get a slightly more dense filter, but see what you think first. What I found with my Noctua behind the Kama bay was that I could see a little of the edges of it as the filter didn't quite 100% cover the opening. Although I did heavily modify my Kama bay too.

For what it's worth I got the more dense filter off eBay, and when it arrived it was grey (yuck!) so I had to dye it black. Result is that you can't see any of the colour of the Noctua behind now, and as you know its a very light coloured fan. I have no doubt it stops a little bit more airflow, but it doesn't feel much less than before to me.

I'll be putting my bits in tomorrow. Might order a cable braiding kit too for the final touch.

Do it! It really does make all the difference to the finish. ;)

i've currently removed the filter all together at present as it was catching all the time.
i wasn't being that patient with it really as i knew this upgrade would eventually arrive.

i'll work on it a lot more when the rest of my i7 parts come.

case is out for delivery today so that'll be fun carrying it home on the train from central Birmingham

@ Diggsy

seeing you have a Zalman fan controller fitted and the fortress having already 3 fans installed obviously my P6t Deluxe motherboard wont be able to accomodate another 2 fans (cpu & Kama).

But are the cables long enough from the exhaust fan all the way down the front etc?
or have you had to extend these yourself?

The Zalman comes with fan extension cables which are long enough to allow the rear fans to reach.

It really shouldn't be catching, and if it is, either the wires that hold the filter in are a little bent, or you haven't installed them just right. I have not had mine catch once either with the old filter, or the new.
