A 42" NMD Bat-tailed PE Base for the majority of British waters...

And a 42" Mitch Rawlins signature VS crescent tail with a 3D core for the bigger waves and warmer climates

Got the Base a few years ago and the Rawlins last year to travel with. I'd reccomend them both to anyone! :D

Gonna nail it this year, started last year and when it got cold I was a bit unsure. Now got a winter suit and a kite buddy to learn with. Hopefully make some progress by the time it warms up (plenty of time at this rate!)

So, so, so, so jealous. My whole life i've been an avid skateboarder, tried snowboarding and dabbled in long boarding for a while too. But not once have I tried any boarding on water.

I think this needs to change!

just got back from a week down in polzeath and completely rekindled my love for surfing. last time was 10 years ago and getting back on a board has given me a whole new focus (and no doubt a new way to spend lots of money).
no board yet but another trip down there in a few weeks will soon remedy that! (so long as the missus is off buying an ice cream or something at the time :D )

Hyperlite Clash and Liquid Force Domain bindings. Hopefully will get my head around wakeboarding soon! Got a week off coming up, going to hit the cable as much as I can afford to. Kiting pretty much doesn't help at all!

My Hyperlite was getting wrecked - I was destroying the small guide fins that you can see in the second picture above from riding on obstacles on the cable.

I was repairing it, but it just kept going through the Epoxy. Sold it cheap to a mate who's going to buzz the guide fins off entirely and epoxy them up, should last ok then. Meanwhile good excuse for a new board!

Looks really narrow in both pictures now you mention it, but kiteboard and wakeboard are both one hole in from widest. I'm only 5 foot 9 so my stance isn't all that wide anyway.

All three boards are 142/143 so that might have something to do with why they look like the feet are narrow.

I'm nowhere near ditching my leash just yet I'm a rubbish kiter! I've barely been out this year we've just had no wind at all until about the last two weeks. Had a bit in march. Been at the lake on the wakeboard a lot though.

The more you body drag the better you'll get but if you havent been out much then fair enough.

or you can just use the wakeboard bindings. :D:D:D (Too early for that.)

If I'm honest, body dragging's a skill that a lot of people who kite where I kite are not great at - we end up lazy with it because we ride in such shallow water.

I'm not really kiting very much this year at all which was going to be my first proper year, I've had a problem with my back which is way way better than it was but last time I went out it still gave me trouble, whereas with wakeboarding I get away with it and if it gets painful I'm not a mile out on the Estuary, so I just haven't really been riding.

Once my back's better I'm sure I'll get more into it, plus autumn brings all the good wind and the lake gets really cold. I'll ditch the leash once I'm confident but to be honest will probably keep a short tag on one of the fins and the leash on my harness just for emergencies.

Just noticed that in the pic of the Hyperlite they were two holes in. I never rode it like that, must have changed it before I rode it. Didn't remember screwing them in that narrow at first though.

Anybody here experienced at shaping surfboards? I watched a mate of mine recently shaping his own and now I've got the itch. I've got the general idea down as to what tools and materials I need, anybody here know a good place to pick up blanks, templates and resin?
