what are graphics like with projectors? they anything like a big screen LCD?

Depends what projector you buy, the more lumens the better the picture. I have used a friends optoma projector and found them to be great quality, only from a distance on a plain surface though.

Pretty much. You can spot flaws easier ofcourse, because any aliasing is about a foot long :p. Previous gen stuff looks pretty naff, but this gen with HD content etc. looks really quite stunning.

Its pretty cool to play on like that, especially driving games as it pretty much fills your field of view and you get a real sensation of speed. Aiming in shooting games is a bit of a challenge mind, you tend to overcompensate until your used to it.

All in all, you can't beat a projector for multiplayer gaming imo, playing 4 way cod4 on it everyone gets a 42" screen! The quality of projection always surprises people who see it, and for what i use it for they fit the bill nicely. Ultimately, all my gaming/film watching is at night anyway, so i dont need to fart around with blackout blinds and i do use it for usually at least 1.5-2 hrs at a time.

For £300 you cant go wrong.

Great price you got their mate, just the bulb might be a bit expensive when you come to replace it, im in the market for a projector/lcd so i may have to take a peek at a projector like that ;D

which is 720p btw so you'd be better setting your ps3 and 360 resolutions to 720p. That is one nice set up though, I want me a 360 elite :P.

Actually no, i had the 40" and it looked better set on 1080p than 720p, the 360 looked better at the native resolution though.

Sold it and bought a better tv though that had proper 1080p.

The Z3 and the AE700 series are superb projectors for their price. They don't work too well for gaming (trying to play a competitive game like brawl on the Z3 at the uni LANs sucks compared to LCD TVs) but I've got a home made one for films. I really should take some pictures one day.

What I really like about projectors is the superb viewing angles compared to even the latest LCD TVs as you can cram 10 people around one for a movie easily. For £300 it's worth getting just for grin factor alone!

Yep, PS3 XMB actually changes in 1080P but the Xbox 360 dashboard seems to still run in 720P, but upscaled I think.

I set my PS3 to 1080P as the games run at 720P native so it doesn't really matter, aside from the very rare game that actually runs at 1080P without upscaling then 720P games upscale via my TV but the XMB/DVD/Blu-Ray movies benefit from being set at 1080.

I let my TV upscale the 360 stuff, it looks better than the 360 scaler I think.

I think the quality of decent projectors has the current crop of plasma and lcd panels beat. My JVC HD1 certainly has them beat motion wise - it's comparable to a crt - and has better contrast. Once you start hitting a screen size of 80" + you can actually appreciate the benefits of 1080p offer over 720p and it blows the PQ of the cinema away. The real issue is your room conditions. Light ceiling/walls/carpet will affect contrast.

Wires near the TV will be hidden next week and my speakers aren't lined up properly at the front (well the center is) :).

Dude what pc case is that you've got?

I've recently aquired the same one but in black for free & have no idea what make it is, i ask becoz i have missing floppy panels & don't use floppy drives & so i wanna get ahold of some bezels...

Looks like a Coolermaster 201, long since out of production. The black one is called a Coolermaster 201B Black Widow and I have one sitting under my desk as I type. :D

Ah rite, good to know :)

I've just googled it & mine doesn't have a window or the front grill part, the lower section of the front is clear with nothing except about 25 holes for air flow

I figured it wasn't a cheap run of the mill case as it is very strong & sturdy, a good build

Having had both i can say that the HD555 has no logo while the HD595 does. That's the difference you're seeing!

Both are great headphones.
