Shower woes...

Hi all,

I have a Triton HP thermostatic mixed shower and a Vokera mynute 20se System boiler.

Lately I have noticed that the shower is not hot at all anymore, and pressure of the hot water that comes out is not that much. Had this shower for over 7 years and think it needs replaced.

The hot water in taps around house is fine.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Digi

Are you getting any hot water out of it at all? If not it might be gunked up to the point that it's not drawing enough water to fire up the boiler. If it's getting warm but not very well then it's likely to be the thermostatic control bit in the shower - a similar thing happened to my parent's shower. It's a reasonably simple (for a plumber) and cheap fix, just replacing a wee plastic block which shrinks and expands with temperature changes to keep the water temperature constant(ish).

Yeah im getting warmish water, I currently have a Triton HP shower, should I replace it with another HP Triton? I have seen similar Triton LP showers and wondering which one is better for me.

I have a Vokera mynute20se boiler which I manually control beforehand the hot water + heating.

ok guys, shower plumber came today and replaced the catridge, but hot water pressure and temperatue is still not good at all.

Anyone got any ideas?, Pressure and temperature are very good in the taps.

Call the plumber up again and tell him he didn't fix it...?

There is probably a small filter somewhere inline before the temperature control, they get gunked up from time to time but are very simple to clean.

On our shower you undo 4 screws to take the complete dial out of the wall mount (which is where the pipes go into, and out of), which lets you take the dial complete with thermostatic control/mixer out, there are two small metal mesh filters at the back of it inline with where the water pipes enter the metal body on the wall.

What?

Call the plumber back and say "You havent fixed it can you come back please"

Sorry but surely this is the first thing you would do, i dont understand, unless you have and are waiting for him and just asking generally.

I took the catridge off and took some pics with water supply on, looks like theres more cold water getting through than hot, (hot pipe is on the left, cold is on the right). Though, both supply's should be the same, as I have a systems boiler with a santon premier unvented system.

Can supply be adjusted?, Heres some pics:
