Shrinking an image

Hey people,

So I was hoping someone could help me with this. I have started playing about with a bit of picture editing. One of the things I am trying to do at the moment is make a signature for use of this forum.

As you can see with my current signature the picture has just stretched The original picture is 500x375. Heres the original.

So as you can see I cut the bottom of the image so I just want the top portion above the N7 symbol. But then when I re-size the image to 400x75 for here is just stretches far to much

I am currently using pixelmator on my mac. I have been reading about on the internet but I am struggling to find out how to do this.

Unfortunately there's not much you can do, as the 75px height restriction really kills any hope of getting it to shrink to a size that is actually viewable. The only option is to crop even more off before you shrink, but even then you'd end up with a tiny image that'll be like 200x75px.

mmmm dammit owell will have to try find a smaller pic or diff pic to use.
