Is it possible to shrink clothes deliberatly? Someone bought me a really cool tshirt from the states but's it too large by quite a way, I want to shrink it. I've managed to shrink stuff inadvertently before, just wondered if there was a process to do it?

put it in hot water then cold water, repeat until you get the size you want - this may work it may not but as already metioned it may shrink unevenly

Doesn't it depend on what material it is made from? I didn't think all materials such as cotton shrunk. Wool based garments on the other hand shrink to nothing, so how come they don't shrink on the sheep?

Shrinking seems to only ever happen when you dont want it to (mum always shrinks clothes i like and fit me) but when i ask her to shrink something that is too big, she can never get them too. lol

i dont have a degree in chemistry, but when you heat most fabric-y things, just before it actually ignites, it melts and shrinks first. So I reckon the tumbledrier has the same effect, as it is just dry heat, although, anything involving heat will do it :)

I reckon any heat will work, so maybe try using a hairdrier on its highest setting?

...

Or just find out where it was purchased from and swap it for a smaller size :p

first, slap friend for thinking your huge

second ,take tee too someone who is into home economics, ie a "cool" art college type mate or even just the average gran and get them to alter it a bit

dont try and shrink it in the wash , it just doenst work
