Shrinking Drive

[On Holiday]

How long should it take to shrink a drive?

HDD: Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200rpm 64Mb Cache 6Gb/s.
Free Space: 46%

Attempting to shrink 500GB and it's still going after 20 minutes..

Has it crashed or should I leave it going?

Whenever I have shrunk a drive it has only taken a few minutes
