I currently have some Sony EX-90 & while they sound good, I am constantly getting told to turn my music down on the tube although I need it loud to cancel out the sound of the tube! So I am after some noise cancellation jobbies or at least dont leak loads of sound, have seen the E3G at just over £50, I mainly listen to stuff like Radiohead, Gomez, Lamb, Pink Floyd & the odd bit of dance music on my Cowon D2. I have read that the E3X are a bit lacking in bass which is putting me off a bit, I like the look of the SE310 but they are over budget.

Any opinions or recommendations from you good people?

get the shures they will blow you out of the sky.

I have an Iriver HD340 with the shure E4's and also travel on the tube (Holborn - Leytonstone) on the Central line and it drowns out the sound of the tube and no one can hear diddly on the outside.

Apart from this the sound quality is amazing. You feel as though you are right in there with it.

Have you heard the E3's then? From what I can see the E4's are quite a step up from the E3s.

Found some good things about the "Ultimate Ears Super.fi Pros" as a good alternative to the SE310s.

Also dont listen to the plebs that say they arnt comfortable, they havent experimented with the various tips you get with them. I defy anyone to tell me the foam tips are uncomfortable, becasue they mould to the shape of your ear!

I agree, some people give them one go, don't fit them properly, then spend a lifetime slagging them off.

I prefer the triple flanges myself, make my E4c's sound superb, cut's out all the tube noise and creates a great seal.

Any experience with the Ultimate Ears Super.fi 5 Pros, can get them for about £90 & they seem to be quite a improvment over the E3s?
