Shutdown Day - Really interesting experiment

My PC is on all the time as it's the house server. But I can go for days without using it and it doesn't bother me.

I am slightly reliant on it however because I don't have a TV, Stereo or DVD player in my room. My PC does all that for me.

If it means any form of computers then i would use the 24 hours to merely catch up on sleep... would be hell otherwise

Yeah I'm pretty damn reliant on my PC. So much so that I'm failing my uni course because of it (although it is totally my own fault, I don't blame my PC, I blame myself). So on saturday I'm gonna take it home, will be posting on here a lot less I imagine (Until easter + summer)

I'll be travelling up the east coast of Australia then so I'm sure I can participate :p

You sure about that?

If its any form of computer and you are using any modern vehicle, your screwed tbh.

I think it's a pretty stupid experiment if I'm honest. It's 2007, of course the vast majority of us are dependant on computers.

The same result of chaos would occur if our methods of transport were taken away. If we suddenly didn't have cars, trains or planes, the world would pretty much grind to a halt.

TBH a silly experiment, although I do have to admit I am quite pc dependant. I do so much on my pc:

- chat to friends
- play video games with friends and strangers
- do homework
- etc etc

For some people it is not possible to stop using their pc for even 24 hrs because their livelyhood depends on it and they just need it to get things done.

very true- for many, including me, its a primary form of communication and work. If i were without it- i probably wouldnt gain anything from it. I would encourage those who can actually do without it to try, but unless i want to fail some stuff I can't lol.

i could leave my computer off for a whole 24 hours... but it would be a hollow victory as i work with them everyday.

the question is could i live without comp[uters for a whole day... Yes i can.. have done it many times... (too much wow would put anyone off computers for a time) sometimes weeks.
