Shutdown timer

Hi hope this is in the right place. I am looking for a PC shutdown timer similiar to a TV.

Ive tried Shutdown timer by http://sinvise.net/home/projects/software/shutdown-timer

It just wont work, tried many sites to download it from including the publishers.

So i am on the hunt for another one that looks nice as above but actually works lol

If you have any recommendations would be much appreciated.

Can you just use event scheduler?

That's what I do sometimes to turn PC off in the morning after it's been downloading all night.

try the search function as i know a lot of people used it and it works fine.

Why does it need to look nice? It's a bloody timer.

Task Scheduler is your friend here. Or you could simply tell your PC to go to Sleep using the Power Settings. Task Scheduler is more exact but using the Power Settings you can have it go off whenever you are idle.

Which you use depends on what the timer is for [i.e. if you fall asleep while watching your porn or if you need it to go off at a particular time in the day].

shutdown -s -t 3600

Works fine for me, that's an hour btw..

lol made me giggle, ye your right the looks is unimportant its the functionality that counts but why not have both if you can

I only need a simple one for going off at night if i forget or watching a movie to my TV so i would like an option of lets say 5 hours atleast.

I will give those ago listed above.

Yep thats the one i linked above it just doesnt work on my PC, cant even open it. Just crashes and i played about with it for an hour trying different downloads etc, shame.

And when you decide to screw bed time shutdown -a will cancel

Just use a Scheduled Task. Can set your PC to shutdown whenever you want. You could also, as I said, simply put an idle time before sleep in your power options. Depending on your settings [and how the planets are aligned] the idle time may or may not include when you are watching a movie
