Evening,

It's been a while since i posted, so greetings all.

I have a problem am looking for some advice.

I sold a Shuttle SN25P with an AMD X64 3200 with 1Gb and an X800 to my father a few months ago and with the funds bought a Shuttle SD37P2 with an E6600 CPU and 2Gb RAM. + X1900 Gfx card.

The SN25P has died a death and all i can get out of it is fans on max. Trawling through the web i found it this means that there a problem with the PCI-E card or socket. After switching 3 cards i conclude it must be the socket.

Now my options are

1. Send it back to shuttle for repair (not an option i like for some reason)

2. Try to purchase a SN25P motherboard ( no idea where from)

3. Give my dad my SD37P2 put in a budget C2D chip and build myself something bigger using some of my existing components. (expensive route)

4. Buy my dad a Asus Vintage Barebones sling in a budget C2D chip and use drives and RAM from SN25P leaving my SD37P2 alone. (cheap route)

Hope this makes sense.

What would you do?

Yimpster

I would try to find one of the SN25P mobo's...

Either 2nd hand/refurbished etc...

Best option in the circumstances.
Unless it is still in warranty - Then send it back.
