I'm looking for this cable here



This is what it connects to at both ends of the cable, other end is connected to the face plate so not shown in that pic




This is the front panel that i'm trying to get working



Is this a generic cable that i can pick up from any where or is it specifically for this mobo ?

its a power cable reset cable pc speaker cable etc right? should be able to pick one up just cant tell you where forum rules

the power and reset are on another cable and currently works. This cable does the usb, audio and firewire.

any pci backplate will do have a look in the members market its not a set cable as far as im aware unless you dont have a spare one then certain auction sites/members market

as long as i can get the usb working that'll be fine, so you reckon i could just get away with 1 of these for each port ?

yes you should be able to make sure though that cables are the right ones i know that the usb version can be brought as both a single connector i.e. [][][][]

as well as a connector that looks like this [][][][]
........................................................[][][][]

where [] = one pin

hope that makes sense
 
yeah i understand but aren't the double connectors just 2 single connectors together ?

looking at this pic it seems that way

i removed the front panel and the connector is smaller so a usb cable wouldn't have fitted.

Ended up making my own cable by removing the connectors off a firewire cable and looking up the pin outs in the mobo manual. Ended up taking bloody ages as everytime i put it back together there was a loose connection on one of the usb ports. seems to be working fine now though :)
