Sick and tired of Pokemon references!

Quick look and I don't think I could... Mind you, would be cool carrying that around on my key chain haha.

If you have been anywhere near a phone or tablet in the past few years, you will not be happy with an SP. It's an unlit screen with a light skimmed across the front like an old digital watch. An SP backlit however, looks fine. It's a night and day difference.

Ah, is it really that bad? I have contacted someone who works in NYC, asking to check a few game shops where people trade stuff in. Asked her to specifically look on the back for Model No. AGS-101. Will let me know tomorrow :)

Best day every - christmas day - pokemon blue - then many many hours played and I'd highly recommend :)

My personal solution get a DS Lite for about £40 odd and a copy of heart gold/soul silver for £15/£20.

Best gen of the game, remake is the most playable, looks the best, has the best pokemon set (252 I think) and has access to the later ones once you do about half the game.

I've had loads of problems getting working gameboy and gba carts over the last few years sadly and the DS lite is backwards compatible with advanced carts if you do find some working ones ;) (saves the faffing about with the advanced sp really)

This is a good should to be honest if you don't mind not forgoing the Original GB/GBC games in favour of their remakes on the GBA and DS. Make sure it's a lite though as the DSi and DSXL don't have GBA ports.

I say go with the GBA Advance SP/Micro set up, favouring the SP somewhat. I always adored the small, square, clam shell design, it's timeless in my opinion. Having said that, the Micro is funky, and I'm with you on the notion of carrying a GBA on my keyring. It's a portable SNES, frankly.

With regards to particular games, you've got a lot of option and no reason to really try any one of them over another, besides from the slight graphical improvements. You won't be disappointed with any, in all fairness.

I echo others with Leaf Green as it's essentially the original with all the improvements up to that time.

I must say, I have an SD card adapter for my DS that fits in the DS card slot. I have all my Pokemon games on that. I still have all the cartridges, its just for portability.

It works the same way as if i was to put the Game cartridge in. Just I have more than one game on one cartridge.

Its not hacked as such, its just a full rip of the game, so all the normal stuff is in place.

(Just so you know, i have the original DS. I think nintendo are a bit stricter with the 3DS and so on)

this is a pretty accurate demo of an SP and SP-backlit

As other people have said, it's probably easier to get a DS although I don't think the DS plays GBA games full screen? I can't remember.

If you did decide to get an SP-backlit a good keyword is brighter, as that's how they were marketed. Be careful using 'backlit'. that word is just a word many people use to to say the screen is lit up, they presume it's backlit. Just in the same way that Argos right now think they sell PS3s with a 12gb Harddrive. I've had a quick look and unless you dropped on with ebay, it's probably not worth buying one.
