Sid Meier's Starships

I'm sure I mentioned this in the Beyond Earth thread, but all the decent stuff with Sid Meier's name on it was basically nothing to do with him.-

Go check out the making of Xcom articles. Sounds like he has a pretty high up management role at Fireaxis even if no longer hands on.

Just installed it and fired it up here, working fine for me through Steam. Game seems kinda basic?

Edit: When I say basic, I mean the presentation of the game - haven't played it enough to see how much depth there is.

Management :)
That's the whole point I'm making; Jake Solomon was largely responsible for the direction and and development of Xcom, and Sid is the 'inspiration' and the big recognisable name to be pushed forward.

I'm sure he did some stuff, but nowhere near as much as the public perception would have you believe.

Great idea, but very very shallow!!!

Played it twice, battles are interesting and so is the general idea, but its very very shallow. Technology is very basic and common to every race. However it could evolve to something great. Battles are similar to Master of Orion 2 (one of my favorites)

I've started noticing Beyond Earth and Starships interacting with each other. You can save a game in Beyond Earth and play a game in Starships using the allegiances and enemies from the Beyond Earth game. Also completing games in Starships is unlocking new starting combinations for games in Beyond Earth. I've only scratched the surface but so far it is good.
