These result were taken from an old test I did with an Alpenfohn Peter on an OC'd 7950.
The temps aren't outstanding due to how I'd attached the VRM heatsink(s) at the time, but look at the difference between side intake and exhaust.

Though it's an aftermarket cooler, the common factor here is that it's case venting when used with fans underneath the main heatsink.
With side or bottom fans alone:
