Side panel fans

Probably a silly question, but the fans commonly found on the side panels of cases: Should they be sucking air out or blowing air in?

Usual to pull air in - provides a nice intake for your expansion cards then. Make sure you've got the same (or more) fans exhausting overall than you have intake fans!

Only reason I asked is that the side fan is the main cause of dust build up in my case (a crappy thermaltake tsunami dream [yeah right :rolleyes:

]). I was thinking, if it pulled air out then there would be less dust.

Go to the market, buy a cheap pair of tights, make an air filter from said pair of tights for the side intake fan. Job done

Yup! This is how all my case fans are.

anyway lol, i just did this with 2 of my case fans including a side fan

looks good to be honest, stealth black style! lets see if it actualy works tho, i dont see any reason why it wont.

i think the side fan would work better with a CPU cooler with a top down fan like the intel stock one. if you have a tower blowing from back to front and the side fan it would probably cause turbulence
