Side window fan

As the tittle says i want to mount a 80mm case fan on the outside of my case window as there is no room on the inside to mount it due to my massive cpu cooler has anyone tried this and whold it work

If it wont fit, it wont fit.

You could mount it on the outside, but would look a bit crap.

How do you expect side fan to help in cooling when airflow of that heatsink is in entirely other plane?

Depends on your definition of 'work'.
You can mount a fan anywhere it'll fit, so long as you can route a power cable to it.
However, mounting a fan on the outside of a fan hole makes routing the cable tricky.
And a fan there would probably make the cooling of your case worse, because it'd disrupt the air passing over the cpu heatsink's blades.
