It doesn't matter if it's enough to power your system. A faulty PSU can cause all kind of problems.

Also have you checked your motherboard for any sign of bulged or leaking capacitors? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capacitor_plague

Bulged capacitors inside motherboard and PSU was what caused my friend's PC to randomly reboot many times recently!
 
Yup Marc, thanks for the link but those are amongst the many drivers I've already tried to install, all to no avail. :(

Just curious though, is it either 'on' or 'off' if that makes sense? I mean if the drivers weren't installed properly would it not just work? Or is there a chance that it'd work perfectly but only certain things like bit torrent are effected?

Thanks for the info about the PSU too, pretty certain it isn't that though, I'm quite positive it's driver related although saying that I'm probably not the most clued up person in the world on it :)
 
Well if there aren't any drivers of any sort it probably won't work as well as it should but it could still work. Didn't you say it was working a bit?

Have you run a WindowsUpdate scan recently? There is a teeny weeny chance that could detect your lack of drivers for the network card and have some for you.
 
Yup, like I said the internet and everything seems to work fine mostly, occasionally it won't connect to websites but the main problem is most definitely torrents which barely connect at all.

Hmm try http://discoverx.wordpress.com/ then. You might be maxing out your TCP connections. There is a site that you can download a patch from but I can't remember it and we've no search facility for a while.
 
No probs. As I said there is a thread in here somewhere that has that link. Bledd sent me the link over MSN but I've long got rid of the file now that XP is patched. :rolleyes:

And with the search function out of circulation, I've no particular fancy to go back and find the thread so I'll wait until the search feature comes back or I see bledd online and pester him for the link.
 
Seems like my Ethernet card problem is a common fault with the board, was advised just to disable it, so I guess my uTorrent problems are isolated so that link is definitely going to be very useful! Thanks.

Out of interest, is this the patch you're referring to - www.lvllord.de ?
