Well, after about 2 years of good going, one of my raptors is playing up a treat. Luckily I have partitioned the Raid setup I have and it appears to be some kind of sector error within the partition of my main os causing it.. bah!!
Is there anyway to check which physical disk is causing the issue as I'd rather not send both my 74gb disks off to get RMA if I can avoid it.
I have to admit Im not really sure how the raid setup works in that I dont know if the stripe setup does it in a way that fills one disk for the first 74 then onto the other disk or what (for example)
Is there any way I can find which disk in my stripe is having issues or is it likely that both will have to be sent??
I bought the raptors when they were deal of the week at ocuk (xmas before last I think) so should be ok to RMA, but whats the procedure here? Ive not done it before, so is it simply following the instructions on the WD site? (got a link from the ocuk sales page)
The motherboard is an 8RDA + and they are currently running on a 148gb stripe (2x74)
Cheers for any advice guys its going to be much appreciated
