Signal Booster/Repeater

I've just moved to a remote area that has low signal for mobile phones. In the house, there's no mobile signal but outside just down the road there's reception.

I'm looking for something that might plug in and have a large aerial that repeats the signal in to the house. Failing that, something that plugs in to the car aerial socket on the phone and will give it that extra boost!

You can get them in the USA, but they're illegal to use in the UK.

hmmm, don't fancy a 5k fine! What about aerials for mobiles to allow them to receive better? Failing that, what handsets have the best reception?

Move house

Which network are you on? I doubt changing handsets would differ that much. Different networks have different levels of cover htough I believe.

Try your friends phones on other networks and see if any are better.

EDIT - Hmm London, I'm guessing all networks cover London so it must just be something blocking it, annoying

Bah, no one gets reception in the house. There's reception outside so I was hoping to plug in a car aerial, stick the aerial to the outside of the window and use that. The mobile doesn't need to be mobile, it just needs to get reception to take/make calls in the office room.
