If i were to buy 2x 2 port cards with the same chipset, same card etc, would i be able to run 4 disks in RAID ?

Im unsure how the cards work ... both PCI-E 1x

you could. kinda. you would have 2 x raid setups through the cards, and you could raid those through software but thats obviously a 2nd rate setup.

best to get 1 x 4port card tbh
