I picked up a PC off the MM at the weekend, all housed in a 600t. The noise!

Im finding the noise unbearable, having to shove the PC away under my desk, even with the fan turned all the way down I find it pretty oppressive.

As I didnt build the thing, Im a bit unsure on what the fan connectors are for these big 220mm fans, can I just reverse the pins to make them 7v?

Can you replace these big fans with quieter ones pretty easily?

Would a bespoke fan controller reduce the fan speed further than the onboard dial at the front?

I built a system for a friend using a 600T and I didn't think it was too bad but the fans do make a wooshing sound. I think the cavernous size might make the sound reverberate too.

Some owners on here have found cutting the grills out next to fans can reduce noise (true of many cases I suspect), so that might be worth trying.

My 600T made no such noise at all.
Sure they were noisier when they needed to kick in on high, but other than that, no significant noise at all.

The noise from the 600T is no mystery to me. It is produced by the fan grills that they have chosen. Quite simply, the grill is too restrictive and this means that some of the air flow gets pushed back through the fans the turbulence causes a tonne of noise as well as making the motor draw more current than normal. I love the 600T so you can see my link in my sig to see what i did to solve the noise problem. The cuts in the mesh were a good first step but having the rads over them too made it dead silent now. Those that say it is quiet/silent by default are... err... deaf. I said DEAF! :P

mine is quiet and im not deaf. even tho the fans are always on the lowest speed as they dont need to be any higher. i can just hear it, but it doesnt bother me at all. but if i remove the front grill with the dust filter on it becomes louder.

Thanks, will take a look at that.

I love the case, and Im sensitive to noise, so I have it stuck under my desk at the moment which seems a bit of a waste.
