Silent Hill 2 Remake

I started this last night, the sound design in the first section walking through the woods was incredible. I have a fairly modest Samsung soundbar with rear speakers but it made excellent use of them, it really felt like the wind was rusting around me and insects were chirping right behind my head despite my speakers being at either side of where I sit.

I have got quite far and honestly Bloober Team have exceeded in all aspects. The game is a great modernization of the game. It gets VERY intense and stressful later. The sound design is REALLY on point. It really adds to the atmosphere and i would highly recommend playing with headphones.

Really enjoying this! Not played a lot just made it to Woodside apartments. Really trying to immerse myself in this game. I am seeing similarities to the Resident Evil games, first time playing a Silent Hill game - The fog really adds something!

Dark room with headphones is fantastic!

All day I've been regretting staying up til 2:30 last night playing (had to do some DIY up a ladder half asleep) but also not regretting because this remake is so good it will be a memory. I'm too old for a second night on the trot.... must resist tonight.... .. .. . .

It’s the best one :p and it is a standalone story. They couldn’t do 3 without doing 1 first, and 1 is sort of covered by the film with Sean bean (with a bit of 2 mixed in for cinematic reasons)
It was the safest bet.

As others have said it was the most popular and a standalone story so didn’t have to connect anything to others in the series. I would like to see a 4-the room and downpour with remakes. Downpour did get a bit of a battering by critics and it did have performance issues but did have some really great details, scenes and story elements.

I enjoyed the 1st game more than the 2nd back when they originally released.
Not played any after the first 2 although I do have The Room somewhere for PC. Just never played it and can't remember where it is

Anyone ever played a game and really enjoyed it, you literally can't wait to get back to it and play some more and keep going...

... And then suddenly like the flick of a switch, you no longer give a flying **** as to whether you ever turn the game back on again.

Yeah, I just got into the otherworld of the hospital and to be fair I'm just bored and frustrated now
It's just turned to trash in the blink on an eye :(
