Did you buy Cronos the new dawn?
Nope. Got hands full with Ghost of Tsushima at the moment.

Never played Silent Hill before, what would be better to pickup F or 2 Remake? F certainly seems better from a PC port PoV
and then 3, as 3 is the sequel to 1.
Was the creator of Dragon Quest behind Silent Hill?IMHO, 2 Remake.
F is a bit marmite. I liked it, but I wouldn't play it again. Where as 2 Remake, I've completed twice, and will replay again. The combat system was a bit naff with F, but not so with 2.
2 is the holy grail of SH games, followed by 3, 1, 4.
2 Has it's own story, so you don't have to worry about not playing 1.
1 Remake is coming next year thoughand then 3, as 3 is the sequel to 1.
Confusing I know![]()
Seriously DQ is like that tho, 3 is "first" then 1-2 and IIRC 11 is actually before 3?...Was the creator of Dragon Quest behind Silent Hill?Seriously DQ is like that tho, 3 is "first" then 1-2 and IIRC 11 is actually before 3?...
But thanks mate, I'll grab 2, its £10 cheaper too so can put that towards maybe First Berserker Khazan

@TNA @will13 some more thoughts on Silent Hill F having 'completed' it.
Overall, mixed thoughts and a 3/5 game.
Setting out my criticisms first:
The good:
- The combat is either easy or impossible, with little in-between. If you do play it, stick to the 'story' combat difficulty. After changing it to this, I breezed through the game only dying twice on the final boss.
- There isn't a huge amount of enemy variety and some areas are re-used in the late game, which is disappointing.
- The story difficult to follow and you cannot get a coherent ending from a single playthrough. It will end and you will say: '.... wut'.
- Some plot elements are almost impossible to pick up as they are only inferred in passing in pretty much the first scene of the game, never to be mentioned again.
- Some of the most bizarre and unsatisfying puzzles I have come across in any game.
- Satisfying endings locked behind New Game+.
It's an ambitious story that's frustrated slightly by it's gameplay. Possibly more 'clever / impressive' than it is a 'good game'.
- Visually fab with a great art-style.
- Creepy enemies and some unsettling environments / scenes.
- An intriguing plot that has you second guessing yourself, with excellent themes.
- A very satisfying and clever story in principle - but I've had to look that up as I don't think I have the energy to go through a NG+.... possibly something I will do with everything set to easy.

Haven't actually picked it up yet, was waiting see if any better deal popped up during Christmas sales but it hasn't so I'll just grab it from cheapest spot I can find currentlyHaha, no idea. Maybe they had too much Asahi one night
No worries mate, how are you finding it? You enjoying it?
BTW, with SH games, your first playthrough, usually trolls you with a **** ending, there's multiple ones, so you have to basically look up how to get a good one and what not to do next time, in order to achieve it - it's the one lame thing about them versus Resident Evil, but it is what it is. If that annoys you when you've finished it, and you don't fancy playing it again, simply look up each of the endings on YT, once you've finished your playthough lol.
If you do a new game + on SH2, you get the chainsaw once you reach the town, it's on your right, jammed into a log, as you come past the farm just before the town entrance
I'd highly recommend you do a new game + with the chainsaw, you can fly through the game being an absolute savage![]()

I'm also trying to sort out what other games I'd like to get, I'm thinking BG3 but there's few others like Digimon lol
Yeah I just finished RE4 last night, actually meant to say that in previous message as another reason I hadn't yet bought SH2, really enjoyed base game and DLC was good too, not sure how I feel about going for 100%/platinum in that game tho lolAh fair, have you got RE2, 3, 4 remake? Cant go wrong with them, and they're pennies now.

And yeah I own every resi except 0 and 1 iirc

I did install all of them other day, and added RenoDX + DLAA too ones I could, intending too go though them, I've played RE2 and 3 in past on PC, and 7 on PS4Nice!
I recently played Resi 0 for the first time, buying it off Steam, and then did 1 Remaster of the GC remake, both still hold up nice and I don't mind the tank controls/fixed camera angles.
I basically then went on a Resi binge and did everything up to 8, including Revolutions 1+2 - of which I'd highly recommend, 1 is a bit linear/aged now, but 2 is very playable and more fun, both are cheap too![]()
Unfortunately I played 3 back when a friend visited during COVID lol, but yeah Ada really needs her own game, playing her in the mercenaries mode is funI actually just finished RE4 Remake myself on a day off, I'm stuck between SH2 or SHF -- don't care much about DLC like the Ada Wong thing with RE either.
If you want more RE do not go for 3, it's by far the most disappointing of the remakes imo, 2 is fantastic and will get you more sexy asian lady in a tight red dress.
She needs her own game badly.

Thinking about SH2 tho I might be able too play it on PS5 over Christmas

I believe it still has some issues but don't F'ing remind me of the stuttering on PC lol, it kinda ruined what I played of FF7 Rebirth, it's like a sub £500 console can play this game buttery smooth (even if it does look blurry) but yet my 9800X3D + 5070Ti can't , it does get better once it caches the shaders but still just really disappointingHush you, 3 is fine if you take it for what it is, the shorter game, just like the original - yes bits were missed. But it's SO cheap now, who really cares, and it's still very polished and fun to play, and you can quickly speed through it straight after finishing everything on RE2R.
RE2R is near perfect though IMHO, as is 4.
Nice!
Apparently the PS5 version doesn't suffer stuttering, like on PC? No idea if that's true or not, mind![]()

One benefit PC has for SH2 tho will be cleaner upscaler, HDR fix and I believe you can mod in ray reconstruction

Then SH3 remake is coming after
Yeah if I gamed on console I'd pickup Resi Requiem day 1 due too physical copy to sell on afterwards but I try not to buy games day 1 anymore on PC, this year I kinda messed up 3 times buying a game day 1 only to not even play the buggersYeah with devs being lazy ASF these days, it is what it is
That's why I still give credit to Naughty Dog for using their own engine.
Yeah, it sure does look pretty on PC
You know we have a new Resi coming in Feb, yeah? And SH1 remake at some point next yearThen SH3 remake is coming after

Same, I sometimes think about getting a PS5 due to physical games but there's still a good few things I dislikeYeah, I miss physical copies![]()
