Silly hard games

Try Gradius 3 or Vulcan Venture on the arcade(mame) annoyingly difficult (the snes version of Gradius 3 was a little easier).

All of the gradius games were extremely difficult. You needed cat like reflexes to avoid everything that was on the screen!

I don't remember having difficulties with Strider, although maybe I played it to death.

It may have been my age at the time but I remember Project-X (by Team17?) on the Amiga to be very hard, not console I know but the only one I remember.

The Simpsons vs Space Mutants on NES was really hard, I couldn't get past the second level!

Another vote for Demon's Souls. Maybe not that it's silly hard, it's just having to repeat everything from the beginning again when you croak it.

most of the COD games on veteran are stupid

MW2 particularly so

MW2 was easier IMO than CoD:MW - in a sense that I managed to complete it on veteran...

I'm still stuck in the Missle Silo on MW, have been for... two years!

The missile silo was stupid hard.. but nowhere near as hard as Burn-out and Corkscrew on WAW on Vet.

And that.. is nowhere near as difficult as COD3 on Vet.. its the only one I haven't finished on Vet

Gonna have another go tonight.. expect a failure post tomorrow lol

that is so true, once you died on the 2nd level you had to go back to level one and start all over again! so annoying but a classic game

for more modern games the only one i have not completed due to difficulty in the last few years has been devil may cry 3, as much as i loved the game i got to a timed section and maybe i missed somthing but despite trying multiple times for a couple of weeks i couldnt find a way out.

id like to vote for demons souls to be removed from the list as although it was challenging it was in no way 'silly hard' it was very well designed and great fun (apart from the posion pit levels) so far my game of the current generation and definatly up there with best of all time.

R-type was stupidly hard I agree!

Once you learned the patterns it was easy, could go twice round on one life.

My vote is ViewPoint, i could get to lvl4 then that was it, madder than a bag of hammers.
