Silly hard games

Ninja Gaiden 2 on the PS3.

Made me actually want to kill someone I was that angry.

Demon Souls, haven't got past the first level/first 10 minutes of the game.
I thought they were both a doddle to be honest, didn't run into any major problems on any of them.

Struggling to think of a really hard game right now. Oooh, The Master of Magic on the Commodore 64 was an absolute bitch, I could never beat that, Dracula always killed me :(

To be honest, it's the PS3 controller I finally gave in an bought a PS3 the other week and still can't get on with it. Triggers are terrible & don't get me started on the symmetrical sticks!

I've got some old 360 controllers so I'm going to have a crack at putting a PS3 controller inside of one.

Just fired up Haunted Castle for the first time ever. Yes, that's hard, although I've had wine :o
It's with MAME that i've just tried Haunted Castle again. And it reminded me how ridiculous it is!

Dragon Breed is also rather hard. It's alright when you get the gold dragon that wraps around the bloke on top,but once you get to later levels and you lose your powers it's a pain.

NO HOTLINKING!

i always found a lot of the megaman games to be quite hard. especially the bosses, a lot of them were nigh on impossible to kill. or maybe i was doing it wrong? lol.

and i cant believe no one has mentioned dragons lair for the NES. screw that game. infuriating.

Very true. When I started playing this on the PSP, it seemed like a great game to have on a handheld but you soon realise it's just too difficult to enjoy casually.

Try Gradius 3 or Vulcan Venture on the arcade(mame) annoyingly difficult (the snes version of Gradius 3 was a little easier).

Bubble Bobble incredibly difficult to go through all levels, same with Rainbow Islands. Even Mr Do to get far was hard as anything...

In general though most old school games are harder then their modern counter parts, seems the modern ones are designed for you to win (even though I admit Bioshock was hard, never completed it).

Battletoads is the only game I've smashed to bits. I was 12 the last time I played it, and I just ripped the cartridge out and stamped on it in rage. TBH I don't think I ever played on that SNES ever again after that (although that probably had something to do with getting a new Playstation at the time)
