Hi all,

I hear on the radio/TV the use of word 'North Bound', 'South Bound'. This may sound silly but what does this mean? Is it something to do with London traffic?

north bound means the side of the road, on which cars, are travelling north

you're 21, how can you not know this?

this should really be int he motors forum, we need the expert knowledge of petrolheads to answer this question.

Its a warning. Northbound means "Entering danger zone - expect Rims and stereos to be pinched". Southbound means "Returning to safety zone".

South Bound is also a warning to carry your passport for checking at Watford Gap, to start drinking frapa-dapa-chinno's instead of coffee and herbal infusions instead of tea, take out a second mortgage so you can afford a pint and to trade your car in for an X5/Range Rover Sport.

I once had to explain to a Thai lady who spoke very little English the difference between Eastbound and Eastbourne (the town). I used a map as a prop. I still don't think she got it.

If that was a comeback then full marks ;)
