With the Fortress FT02, SilverStone engineers have combined the rigidity of unibody construction with the unparalleled cooling layout of the RAVEN chassis, adding a hot-swappable hard drive cage and an acoustically padded interior for maximum versatility. The result is increased structural strength, increased storage capacity, and whisper-quiet operation. Its elegant outer shell is perfectly accentuated by the U-shaped unibody aluminium frame that not only provides unique styling, but also functional purpose. The bottom gap from the frame to the main body actually serves as the main air intake area for its three massive 180mm fans, making it even suitable for use on carpeted surfaces. For professionals and enthusiasts looking to build a silent workstation or gaming machine with maximum performance, there is no better than the SilverStone Fortress FT02.

Im not sure wether I like them or not - its an odd design. I dont mean layout, ive had a Raven before and its great, the exterior aesthetics are ... odd.

Werid case, don't quite get why you would want the I/O PCI stuff at the top of the case
and then route them round the back, when not just have them at the back to begin with.

Am I missing something?

Already got one :D great case with great cooling, only real drawbacks the limited space behind the mobo tray for running cables. One of those psu's with flat cables would sort this though.

This case is vastly different to the Fortress FT01, but cases are a "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" so some people will prefer the Fortress 1, others will prefer the fortress 2.

Agree with the above, Corsair 800D nicer, this is too plain, boring and weird.

Boring? The 800d is quite literally a large angular box, its not to dissimilar from those beige fulltower cases we all used to own years ago. Its real claim to fame is the grommets for the cable routing and thats really it..

Have to disagree with ^^ regarding the looks of the 800D

It has an aesthetic that is simple, clean and understated, less is more: a beautiful design.

Well to me thats really all it has in terms of looks, the fortress has a nice rounded look to it and is mainly made of aluminium, for the 800d to cost as much as a fortress it has a scary amount of plastic all over and inside it.

Airflow on the fortress id imagine also kicks the 800d in the teeth due to how the fans are positioned.

Imo id say the only 2 things the 800d have over the fortress is slightly better cable routing and more hot swap bays out of the box. My temps have decreased about 10c on the cpu and a bit more on the gpu coming from a cosmos s to this case.

Yes the Fortress does have a rounded look, but it just reminds me of a 1950;s car, so boring and plain. Cases are a very personal thing, its a great case for cooling i know but i just dont like the look.:)
