Silverstone FT02 - query about improving HDD anti-vibration

Hello

I have recently bought a Silverstone FT02 and transferred all the hardware from my old Antec P182. One main thing I have noticed, apart from cooler temperatures, is an increased vibration that is being transferred through the chassis and then through my disk of the HDD chatter.

I'm wondering if anyone else has found the same and what solutions they have come to? I'm also wondering if it is worth sourcing some gel like 'feet' that came with the P182 to put on the bottom of the FT02 and whether there are better rubber grommets available to secure the HDD's?

Look forward to your replies :-)

Interesting,

I was also going to go P182 to FT02 but the upgrade is on hold as I'd rather upgrade the complete platform too at the end of the year.

What exactly are you saying - HDD dampening on the FT02 is not good as on the P182 ?

ps How do you find the FT02 with its PSU and GPU up top ? I'm worried about noise compared to the P182 which I've got at near silent during normal operation. During gaming the GPU obviously takes over and I turn the internal fans up too

I have one drive out of the 4 hard discs in mine that makes a horrible pulsing noise, oddly enough the others (and one is the exact same model) don't.

I need to get around to trying to bungee it really.

The raptors seem to be fine and it may be just one of the samsungs that I can hear.

Really pleased with the case and the better airflow. No issues with the GPU / PSU being top mounted. You can set the fans to low or high. I keep them on low, as I did with the P182, and noise is about the same level.

Will probably test a bit more to check whether it is just the single hard drive causing a problem and look at a bungee mod or similar...
