Is anyone using this cooler (with a Sugo)?

I'd interested to know if it would be possible to fit a 120mm fan underneath the heatsink to blow upwards toward the PSU fan. There would probably be difficulties in attaching the fan, but would it actually fit, or would it interfere with motherboard caps?

Nope but you dont need one, you just use the fan from the PSU - this is ample cooling. I used a modded SI-128 (similar to the NT06) and it cooled the E6400 fine.:)
 
I realise that the NT06 is designed to be run passive in a Sugo. Chrisp7: have you used one on an overclocked CPU?

I just feel that a little bit of active cooling if possible would be better than having a very slow fan shifting a small amount of air.

By the way: What's the power rating of a Core 2 Duo when overclocked?
 
Thats the point, there simply is no room whatsoever for and fan to fit. The space was about 1-2 mm between the PSU and heatsink (for a larger SI-128) and I would have thought the NT06 the same. The SI-128 is so big that it only needs a little bit of airflow for it to cool, its a very good heatsink.

I didnt overclock my CPU, but probably could have as it was quite cool (sorry not to be specific as I no longer have it)

If you dont mind the noise maybe a Zalman heatsink(with fan) or a Blue Orb would be better for overclocking - however I am not sure. (I have since read that they cool about the same as the SI-128/NT06 PSU setup.

The Silverstone site states for the SUGO:

CPU cooler cannot exceed 78mm in height”
The specs on the NT06 are: 125.4mm (W) x 78mm (H) x 148mm (D)

also when i measure the gap from the top of my CPU its more than 78mm its more like 85mm, unless my PSU is not a stanadrd ATX size. but then i dont know what the size of a standard ATX PSU is.

so to clarify i think the gap is 85mm not 78mm (what do silverstone know anyway), the enzo is 93mm without fan + 8mm for good luck. and it should fit like a glove. i hope. lol

I think you misunderstand me. I know there's no room on top of the heatsink, I'm wondering if it's possible to fit a fan underneath the heatsink, blowing upwards. That's between the base where the heatpipes come from and actual main body. I suppose it can only be answered by someone with the heatsink.

It probably won't fit, but I've got a strange urge to try. :p

bah I totally misunderstood you, sorry! :o Hmm well yes there definitely is room heightwise on a SI-128, however I am not too sure about the width of a 120mm fan, probably yes. I guess the problem would be attaching it secure. Sorry I keep on referring to the SI-128 not the NT06 I found a pic of the NT06.

I had the NT06 running passive with a Tagan 480W modular PSU, was using it to cool a 130Watt CPU, not very effective, but a lot of people have had good resuls cooling 90W or less CPU's using an Enermax Liberty PSU, so I recommend getting that PSU if your going the use the NT06 with your Core2duo...
