I don’t need a 2050w.Silverstone make quality units and the one reviews well although being a bit noisy.
Why do you need a 2050w PSU ?

Silverstone HELA 2050 W Review - World's Strongest PSU
The HELA 2050 has enough output power to start a truck and comes with a 12-pin PCIe connector for support of the next-generation graphics cards releasing in 2022. Currently, it is the strongest desktop PSU money can buy, and build quality is also topnotch. However, it is priced accordingly.www.techpowerup.com
The problem is not the price, it’s the availability. I was originally wanting a Seasonic however it’s still out of stock, Corsair is also out of stock. The warranty on the Silverstone is also not as good as the Seasonic but it is now also out of stock. If you could list the parts of your proposed build, I'm certain others can suggest alternatives that are cheaper than that Silverstone.
The system is - 5090, 9950x3d, X870E Hero, 2x4tb NVME, 7x Noctua Fans, Kraken Elite 360, 64GB 6000 C28NZXT 1500W? Can’t imagine needing more power than that, depends what you are building though.

I was looking at the 1600w Seasonic which is overkill but it’s a good brand and not too expensive. It is due in at the end of the month however this could be pushed back even further.Even 1500w is overkill to be honest. The 2050w silverstone is completely unnecessary though.
Yes that’s the one.Which seasonic is that, Prime TX 1600? It’s obviously a very good PSU but it’s very expensive. You really don’t need to spend that much on a PSU to get something suitable in my opinion. Like I said even the 1500w NZXT is overkill. A 1200-1300w PSU would run all of the above spec no problem. The Prime would do it easily, but you could save some money. Admittedly looking at the spec of the machine it doesn’t seem like it’s being built to a strict budget![]()
I will see if they have e the NZXT 1500 in stock. I’m getting inpatientThere are other good alternatives but if you take the NZXT 1500 as an example it’s a Platinum rated PSU (although I believe Cybenetics rate it as Titanium so I doubt there’s much in it) with dual 16pin output and a ten year warranty. The Seasonic is Titanium and has an additional two years warranty but it costs roughly another £200. It may have some slight improvements in performance in some areas all of which are likely to be unnoticeable to a user. Personally I am not sure it’s worth the extra…!(£280 vs £480)
If you are dead set on spending £500 odd on a PSU then the Seasonic would do well.
When we say that, we mean buying a £10 PSU from a car boot sale or some random brand we've never heard of, not a positively reviewed model from a reputable brandI’ve always been told to not cheap out on the PSU.
Maybe I took it a little to far with a 2000w+When we say that, we mean buying a £10 PSU from a car boot sale or some random brand we've never heard of, not a positively reviewed model from a reputable brand![]()
