Silverstone PSU

Silverstone make quality units and the one reviews well although being a bit noisy.

Why do you need a 2050w PSU ?

I don’t need a 2050w.

My system build is being held up by a Seasonic PSU I ordered which is still out of stock and this is being offered at a discounted price.

I’m hoping it’s good enough.

If you could list the parts of your proposed build, I'm certain others can suggest alternatives that are cheaper than that Silverstone.
The problem is not the price, it’s the availability. I was originally wanting a Seasonic however it’s still out of stock, Corsair is also out of stock. The warranty on the Silverstone is also not as good as the Seasonic but it is now also out of stock.

This is the only part that is holding my build up.

NZXT 1500W? Can’t imagine needing more power than that, depends what you are building though.

Even 1500w is overkill to be honest. The 2050w silverstone is completely unnecessary though.
I was looking at the 1600w Seasonic which is overkill but it’s a good brand and not too expensive. It is due in at the end of the month however this could be pushed back even further.

The Corsair 1600w is a great option but again out of stock like I say.

They offered me the Silverstone 2050w as it was in stock, now it’s not unfortunately.

I honestly didn’t think the PSU with be a problem.

Which seasonic is that, Prime TX 1600? It’s obviously a very good PSU but it’s very expensive. You really don’t need to spend that much on a PSU to get something suitable in my opinion. Like I said even the 1500w NZXT is overkill. A 1200-1300w PSU would run all of the above spec no problem. The Prime would do it easily, but you could save some money. Admittedly looking at the spec of the machine it doesn’t seem like it’s being built to a strict budget :)

Yes that’s the one.

I just like the warranty and overall good rep Seasonic gets. I’ve always been told to not cheap out on the PSU.

There are other good alternatives but if you take the NZXT 1500 as an example it’s a Platinum rated PSU (although I believe Cybenetics rate it as Titanium so I doubt there’s much in it) with dual 16pin output and a ten year warranty. The Seasonic is Titanium and has an additional two years warranty but it costs roughly another £200. It may have some slight improvements in performance in some areas all of which are likely to be unnoticeable to a user. Personally I am not sure it’s worth the extra…!(£280 vs £480)

If you are dead set on spending £500 odd on a PSU then the Seasonic would do well.

I will see if they have e the NZXT 1500 in stock. I’m getting inpatient

I ended up going for the Corsair HX1500i.

It was between that and the NZXT1500 but in the end Corsair from my experience has better support.

Thanks for the advice.
