After releasing the ground-breaking RAVEN RV01, the first retail chassis to utilize the 90 degree motherboard mounting layout, SilverStone’s RAVEN team quickly went back to the drawing board to create another chassis with even more mass appeal. The resulting RAVEN RV02 is smaller, lighter, and higher performing. Compatibility with Extended-ATX motherboard and server level storage capacity were sacrificed in favor of a more compact dimension and consumer oriented design. Three custom designed 180mm fans and one 120mm fan are included in the RV02 to provide noise to cooling performance ratio that breaks existing benchmark for enthusiast chassis. Additional features such as the inclusion of the 8th expansion slot (for triple or quad graphics cards), all black painted interior, custom designed hard drive suspension cage, and radiator mounts completes a package that will not only appeal to hardware enthusiasts but also to anyone looking to assemble a system that makes a statement with plenty of cooling and very little noise.

with this case and mine (p190)....which will prove the better cooling and better internal fitting's.

ive got watercooling in my p190.

well it's an intriguing looking case. Just read a review and it certainly does look great. But yeah for watercooling, you're going to have do some serious modding as this case is definitely built for air more than it is for water.

Good price, and I like the case! In fact, I've been toying between this and the (upcoming) FT02.

OcUK: Any news on when the Fortress FT02 might be available?

Prefer the looks of the FT02 but this is a great price.

Yup FT2 looks better especially at the front and design, guess its gonna be more pricey but the raven 2 does look nice too I like the approach of less fans and just 3 giant 180mm silent fans pushing any possible heat outwards and out the case silently.

I belive in many demos they ran it passive the cpu cooler too.

Impressive alround lets hope the F2 releases next month as rumoured

I bought a Lian Li V1000 some time ago which has the whole motherboard inverted to aid airflow. Since then motherboards started using heatpipes to cool thier power/southbridge/northbridge components and this kind of stopped me from being able to upgrade my system as the heatpipe design should only really work properly in the orientation that they are designed for.

This case turns the motherboard 90 degrees so I would expect to potentially see cooling problems with motherboards that use heatpipes too. Has anyone seen any tests to disprove this?

Hi all,

Been a shopper at OcUK for a few years and finally joined the forum!! (best around!) :D

I have my i5 bits arriving today and im after a new case.:p

I was looking at the CM Cosmos all black but this has caught my eye along with the FT02. (matter of style or GRRR factor:D)

However, in all the reviews and pictures I have seen so far I have noticed that its always an Nvidia card in the setup. My concern is will an ATI card the same size as say an GTX285 fit with the power plugs being on the bottom end of the card and not on the side like the Nvidia ones??

Edit: DOH! Just realised that the new 5870's have the pwer plugs on the side...

I intend to get Win 7 soon and around Christmas either an ATI or NV card but I need to be sure an ATI will fit ( or either brand if they are pusing 11" with the news ones due:confused:)

Thanks,

Brackish.
