sim city 4

The only annoying thing is this game get's really slow with bit cities, I have a monster of a PC and that's not a good thing. :p

If only the game was multithreaded, that would probably help a lot, but sadly dual core CPU's never existed when SC4 was out, let alone quad. ¬¬

Edit, I failed, I replied to a post made on 1st Jun 2007, 01:40 PM lol.
Funnily, I thought of playing sc4 again earlier today.

I totally want to play again!!! I can't find my disks though :(

Still have all the mods in a directory backed up :D

Gave this a whirl on my laptop (Pentium 4 3Ghz, 2GB RAM 256 ATI card) and it ran like a pig on XP.

Shame I wanted to give this a real good go. :(

just loaded up after a long time not playing and forgot how big my main region got before i got bored

is this the same as sim city societies?

I don't know which but the last sim city was apparently rubbish which is a shame as this is possibly my favourite game. I stopped playing at sim city 3.

Should i bother getting sim city 4/societies?

Nope, this is SimCity 4.. and you are right, Sim City Societies was rubbish! If you thinking about getting one of the two go for SimCity4 Deluxe version.. think it can be found for a tenner or so nowdays.. and you can loss many hours/days/weeks playing it depending on how much you get into it!

Holy neat U.S city style blocks Batman!

And because of this, I may up locked reinstallling this game and lock myself in my room for the next XXX days/weeks/months/years. :D

Just started a city last night, been working on it this morning and have so far got around 40k, Im trying out a new layout, so far seems to be working well, although mostly industry.

doesn't take too long to get a city that size really especially if you use the grid system like i did. the thing that took the most time was the coastline to get it to fit next to the roads.
also i use a plugin to get infinite money as im more interested in building cities rather than managing a budget :D
