Sim Free HTC HD2 for £277.72

Hmmm, sooo tempting... This doesn't affect your contract in any way I assume? If I got it I could sell my HD and buy this for around £90 extra, then upgrade again in 6 months... :p Very tempting..

I tried doing this earlier from a simplicity contract and regular monthly contract. Both times 365 quid, when I tried to get it to 277 they said it was a pricing error.]

Not sure whether to stump it up and sell my 2g iPhone.

im pretty sure it is a pricing error. Anyone who got one for £277 is lucky as you know what.

They must cost about £277 at cost price!

i just rang from o2 phone 202

got through to upgrades and spoke to a nice chap who said it was released yesterday and they have stock and price is £365

I did mention a few of my "mates" ordered it yesterday for £277 which he was fully aware of, he said someone at o2 put it on the system at wrong price and the reduced price got suspended at lunch time yesterday, i tried to ask for a price match which he said no lol

so its in stock at £365

is it still worth £365?

edit: if it helps, im just coming up to my last months of my iphone contract.

I might just get it on contract. Paying £365 + £20/month simplicity is more expensive than just taking out a new contract :)

If you get the phone free on a £35/month contract over 18 months = £630
If you get the phone free on a £30/month contract over 24 months = £720
If you purchase at £365 + pay £20/month over 18 months =£725

So it is more expensive, however you are not tied in to a contract and can sell and upgrade sooner. Mobile phone cycles come every 9-10 months for me so I try and avoid long contracts such as 18+ months. 12 is the most i'd do.

I've had my iPhone 2G since Carphone Warehouse were getting rid of them for £160. I've not needed to upgrade since then because nothing was that much more of a step up. I'm not even sure the HD2 is that much of a step up really. I'm just getting bored really, and a change of GUI may calm me down :p

just phoned o2 pay as you go and they had no idea what i was talking about when i mentioned buying the htc on pay as you go. they stated they dont even sell any htc phones so i do not understand how any of you guys managed this, and especially for that crazy price

O2 (Voda too) are offering £100 Quidco on Sim-only 12mo (vs. £35 for contract) so that makes it a fairly comparable price.
