Hi,

My GF has a Galaxy S4 and is looking to go onto a SIM only deal. She is currently with Orange but their SIM only deals just don't seem to compare to other providers.
Tesco, GiffGaff, 3 and Virgin all seem to have good deals at the moment but which of these is best?
She uses her phone for internet browsing quite a bit but I wouldnt expect she would use more than 500gig p/m. But is it correct that GiffGaff is not particularly good for internet due to being on O2's network? If so, is that also the case for Tesco who I believe use O2's network also?
Phone will be used in Portsmouth area so be st coverage there is preferable.

Would like to hear people views.

Many thanks.

500 gig per month???????????? Id take a look at 3, not been in the UK for just over a year but the internet plans for payg always worked great for me when I was back home and when I was visiting family in Portsmouth (Fratton) I always had great signal.

I get 150 mins, 300 texts, 500MB data every month for free

They seem to run the odd promotional month too, this month I've got 1GB data for free. You pay a one off fee of £20 (used to be £15), and get that as credit. Bring your old number across and get another £3, refer a friend and get another £3. I've never paid a penny since I signed up in June. And I've used the service abroad too

It's on Vodafone network, so very good coverage.

I just got a sim only, with unlimited calls, texts and 1GB of tetherable data from EE for £15 a month inc VAT. 12 month deal, upgradable at any time.

Which is nice. Supposed to be £25 a but they offered me a tenner off each month.

Use this site. If you have online account with another service provider, they can examine your last 3 bills and see what you actually used. Good tool to see that you are getting value for money. A full fat minutes, txts, and data is good, but if you don't need it then it's wasting £15 a month. For example I never call, send a couple txts, but do a lot of browsing. However I rarely browse on the move, and just take advantage of WiFi at home, or friends houses or starbucks/mcdonalds. But 500MB is still a healthy amount.

just signed up for the One Plan with Three - on a rolling 18 per month

liked the fact it has lots of mins, unlimited data and tethering :)

15 a month if sign up for 12 months

was plan most suited to me

08 numbers - thats a nice feature

I thought with 3 I could use Skype for 0800 nos (free I think) and Skype (I've have quite a bit of credit on skype from way back) for 0845 nos etc

as I've locked my "3" one account to Zero cap - so can't do anything than use my free monthly allowances
