Simmy's E36

Delighted your doing it properly, and a modded M52 to boot, nice one!

I'll look forward to updates on this :)

Still don't like the sticker, it ruins a beauty IMO.

Might rip it off after the engine is in and put a smaller one on the rear window or something :) need to get the roof painted too at some point.

Hoping it should be pushing about 220-230bhp after a remap.

Managed to find a e36 Alpina B2.5 exhaust for her as well so got that coming with a decat pipe :)

Few mods that are clearly more your taste than others, but I have to say it looks exceptionally clean and a good example :)

The "rig edit one" name might give it away but was this shot from another car, or have you got a rig to stick a large poll to the car and dangle a camera a few feet away? If it's the rig, I'd love a few more details if you've got any :)

Nice looking motor!

Unfortunately the sticker reminds me of this! :D
Nankang tyres!? :p
Maybe he likes to get the back end out, and with a 318 Touring, cheap rubber is probably the only way to do it! :D

and about the tyres they are cheap and tbh not to bad in the dry

but when your running camber and your low tyres dont last for ever! pluss they stretch nice so clear the arches. not sure how they will cope once the 2.8 is in but we will find out. but less traction on the back more fun anyway

Looks very very nice :cool::cool:

How much of a hardship is an engine swap from a 4 to a 6 cylinder? E36's came with an M50 from the factroy so is it near enough a 'bolt in' swap from the M44?

all the mounts are the same

i think you just need to change

Engine
engine Loom
Box
Rear Diff
prop

breaks if you dont already have big 1's the 4 pot running gear will work but i dont think it can handle the torque

Nice mean looking cars these, especially with Alpina wheels.

But those mirrors, the sticker and the E46 M3 rear view mirror... :( Apart from that, everything else seems right good!

How much was the camera rig btw? Been looking at these for a while, average cost is £450!

Exhaust too.
Rear axel pretty much as I recall changing the diff means you need different half shafts.
ECU and possibly ignition barrel too due to the immobiliser system I think as well.

Been ages since I looked at it all for the E36 though so things may have changed.
