On my EVGA 680i board i've got an 8 pin/hole connector that i also have to connect aswell as the usual 24 pin one, but my PSU only has a 4 pin connector, what can i do? Would it work if i stick the 4 pin connector in it? because it will fit...

Cheers.

The 8-pin is the latest connector, few PSUs support it although my Enermax INFINITI has such a beast......I even got to finally plug it into something for the day I had my BLITZ......anyhow, you are fine with just the 4-pin :)

it provides power to the cpu and suggested if you have a Quad then it best to get a 8 pin for stability, but it should be fine with the 4pin.

Well i've connected the 4 pin to the 8 pin and the system wont boot up, just comes on and blank screen, but sometimes it gets to post and diaplays the CPU number and all that, but then never gets further and wont go into BIOS. I've swapped the RAM and graphics card AND CPU for different ones, but no effect. So its either the board or not having a 8pin connector.

What do you guys think it is? Would it probably be the board needing 8pin PSU?

Yeah just tried that... and still wont boot! Guess the boards fooked. It was working couple of days ago...
It's under a year old, so would i be able to return it to EVGA under warranty?

Remove the CPU and try it.

Clear CMOS over night with jumper on and then battry out.

Have you made sure the 4 pin is in properly?

I got a 4 pin to 8 pin convert off a highstreet electrical shop called M.....

I dont use it but handy to have

EVGA offer lifetime warranty to all products so you should be able to return it.
