Simple HTPC

AC3Filter can decode Dolby and DTS no problems, but I've been having a lot of problems playing back mkv files due, i think to high cpu usage .... until last night :p

For years now i have been using K-Lite codec pack - yes i know people say codec packs are evil and now i think im going to agree. So i removed it and other codec bits and pieces, got rid of ffdshow and installed CoreAVC and tried playing an mkv file.

Everything now plays perfectly, with 30-40% cpu usage, no sync problems whatsoever and much faster search times :D Bin ffdshow and get CoreAVC!

All i have to now is install divx/xvid and figure out why media portal keeps hanging :(
