I just switched from Samsung mp3 player - the Samsung was incompatible with my mac, so I picked iPod nano 3rd gen, since they're so heavily discounted now. But one thing drives me up the wall. On the move I listen entirely to podcasts, 60-90 minute long files, and all my previous mp3 players, the Samsungs, the Sony Ericsson walkmen, you name it would never have any issue with resume after syncing new files, but for some reason every time I add a new file to iPod via iTunes next time I switch on the Nano the playlist starts from the beginning. I have to then spend 20 minutes with fast forward button to get back to where I was last time. Is this behavior - reset of playlist after sync - normal with iPods? Is it an option one can switch somewhere to avoid it?

yo

right click the file in itunes and go to properties - there is an option in there for remembering where you left off, just set it for all your pod casts..... i think the ones that you download from itunes would be set like that already

Additionaly you're fast forwarding the slow way. Instead of holding down forward, click the centre button and dial forwards using the wheel

You're looking in the wrong place. Apple refurb store, £72 for the 8Gb 'fat' nano.

Wrong. They were £95 refurbed a couple of weeks ago. I know this because Little Miss Feek was going to buy one so I was checking the prices. Since the new one came out, the refurb has dropped from £95 to £72.

Fair enough. Still not sure I consider £23 as heavy discount!

The 4Gb version was £95, the 8Gb one is £72. It's a huge discount. Even if they were the same size, it's about a 25% discount, you don't consider that heavy?

Personally, no. But you, I, and more importantly Apple, could argue ad infinitum the subjective meaning of 'heavy' or 'huge'. £23 is definitely an initially reasonable discount. But it ain't no steal imo.

I'd perhaps be content knowing a new 8gb was £72, and a 4gb say, £52.
