Simple Maths Question

Got this question, but there are too many words for me to compute

I did AS Level maths, but can't figure out this GCSE question

Formulate and solve an equation to find the number involved:

Six times the result of subtracting one from a number added to three times the result of adding two to the same number equals eighteen.

6(n-1) +3(n+2) = 18
6n-6+3n+6=18
9n=18
n=2

Any good?

if it's wrong - maths was never my strong point anyway.
