does anyone know of any decent PAYG mobile broadband packages? I want something that I can use every now and then when out and about with my laptop...

any advice?

I've got 3 payg but it's pants, its £10 for 30days with 1gb (£15 for 3gb, and £25 for 7gb) and the DNS servers are a pain but if you set up something like OpenDNS it works great.

hmm yeah, the £15 for 3GB over a month is the same as o2 (who i'd be inclined to choose over 3) - it says the connection speed is 3Meg which is better than my crappy home line but i'm getting this is a very optimistic number?

EDIT: also, might as well tag on another question, they absolutely pull your pants down if you go over the cap, anyone know any decent traffic monitoring software for mac?

got the three one and its actually quite good :) although my usage (shown on the inbuilt app) keeps going up even when i see no reason for any apps to be talking over the net

anyone know of a mac app that can tell me which apps are communicating and what usage they are individually taking up?

got a question regarding this 3 broadband if anyone can help... When connected it can do 2.5meg which I'm quite happy with, it's connecting in the first place which is a bit sporadic.

What happens is I click connect, it authenticates, then says connected, great. But when I go to the browser the status stays at "looking for www..." - after maybe 2 or 3 disconnections and reconnecting again it works fine, but I don't really want to go through that ritual each time... And ideas?

yeah maybe, shame though cuz its quite a decent service i think... its faster than my home broadband anyway

just realised the 3Connect monitoring app is playing up, this morning it reset my monthly total (duration is still correct) which i'm have to keep an eye on cuz they'll catch me out if i misjudge that

vodafone do a 3g dongle 39.99 with 1 gb allowance so long as you connect once every180 days ie 6 months you keep it working and top up when you run out is 15 quid but its about best payg with little use etc..
