Simple query - Will a Linksys AM200 ADSL 2+ Modem work ok on Be connection

This is a simple query - Will a Linksys AM200 ADSL 2+ Modem work ok on Be connection? Im on Be Pro atm.

Does anyone here use the above ADSL 2+ Modem without any faults?

Im abit sceptical as the bottom of the modem says AM200-Annex A although I thought Be pro connections use Annex-M?

Yes, 100%.

I use an am200 + wrt54g on my be connection, works perfectly

Great, thats good news, even though as far as I can see the AM200 does not support Annex-M??

What sort of speeds are you getting?

At the moment im syncing at around 15meg down on my DG834GT and downstream throughput is around 1.42MB/s

Will give it a test and see how it goes. Could you do me a favour and post your AM200 firmware version if possible?

I read that the AM200 may need a firmware upgrade to work OK on a Be connection.

Can't really give you any useful information as I am miles away from the exchange but it is connecting on G.992.5 which is Annex M I think.Running firmware 1.19.02.

I also have a route setup on the wrt5g so I can get to the console of the am200, very handy.

ADSL2+ (G.992.5) - Your running on ADSL 2, I can also confirm that AM200's do not support Annex-M.

Hmmm. guess only way to find out is to connect up and test?

How are you putting authentication details into AM200 as Be does not require username/password??

I have an AM200, took me ages to find the firmware that supports ADSL2+.

Even then the speed was poor compared to my O2 box, so I went back to that.

As far as authentication goes, it doesnt need a user name and password,but it does need something, which I cant remember. Google will help.

Might just stick it on the members market.

Are you actually using Annex M though? If you're Annex A just now and getting 15Mbps, you're not going to gain anything from Annex M anyway...
